Co-founder of Oat of the Ordinary, Chara Krangle.

Our story

Oat of the Ordinary was co-created by holistic nutritionist Chara to address the common challenge her clients faced: they were turning to high-sugar, simple carbohydrate foods for breakfast due to their busy schedules.

This caused energy spikes (then crashes), intense cravings, a disruption in focus, and a huge wrench in sticking to a healthy eating plan. Chara knew all of these symptoms could be addressed simply by changing what they were eating for breakfast.

Thus, Oat of the Ordinary was born. A satiating, energy-balancing, delicious high-protein, high-fibre, low-sugar breakfast that can be enjoyed simply by mixing with your liquid of choice, no matter where you are or how busy your schedule may be.

Join the thousands of people owning their wellness journey, feeling their best, and valuing their health as much as they value their time.

Making Oat of the Ordinary has never been easier.

You can make it instantly by mixing with hot water (or heated mylk) and allowing it to sit for 5-10 minutes.

For a creamy grab-and-go overnight oatmeal option, mix Oat of the Ordinary with your favourite mylk and allow to sit in the fridge overnight.

Feel free to add toppings to either option or enjoy as is!

YAY! We're so happy you asked!

Here are a couple top reasons why we stand oat from other oatmeals:

We ADD a plant-based protein to our oatmeal to support satiation and the thousands of other functions our bodies require protein for.

Most oatmeals on the market use sugar as the second or third ingredient with some single-serve portions containing over 10g+ per serving. Not ideal for setting the tone for a healthy day ahead.

We use a pinch of organic coconut sugar and even less stevia to provide a subtly sweet taste while keeping health and the forefront.

We use Avena oats which are gluten-free. non-GMO, and work closely with their farmers. Learn more about the Avena protocol here.

Rolled oats digest slower than quick oats which supports feeling fuller longer! They are also an excellent source of B vitamins, protein, and minerals such as calcium, iron, manganese, zinc, phosphorous, and magnesium.

Whether you practice intermittent fasting or eat when you first wake up, we love setting a healthy tone for the day by eating Oat of the Ordinary for breakfast -no matter what time that may be.

HOWEVER, Oat of the Ordinary also makes for a nutritious high-protein snack or pre or post-workout meal.

Oat of the Ordinary is the PERFECT addition to your baking, smoothies, snacks, and desserts.

For baking, blend Oat of the Ordinary in your blender or food processor to create a high-protein, low-sugar baking flour.

We're so grateful that many families have shared how much their kids love our oats and how it's been a lifesaver having such a healthy breakfast on hand when their hands are full (literally and figuratively).

Our oats are also great for those who are breastfeeding as oats have been shown to support milk production. Keeping a container full of overnight oats in the fridge is also supportive to new families who are short on time (and sleep!) and need a snack or meal quick!

To be honest, this changes frequently. We'd say Blueberry Cinnamon is a fan favourite but lately, Chocolate Coconut and Raspberry have been having their moment!

We recommend trying the multi-serve variety pack to try them all before deciding on one flavour (although we have a feeling you'll love them all and keep the flavours rotating daily!).

We ship across Canada and to the continental US.

Our single-serve pouches is a single 58g pouch where our multi-serve pouches are 360g and provide the option to choose your own serving size. Single-serves are great for taking on planes, on the go, or when you don't like to leave it up to chance to measure! Multi-serve pouches are great for at home or to leave at the office ensuring you always have a healthy breakfast available.
